Redneck Bar & Junkyard NFH

Noise is the number-one complaint the Good Neighbor Underclass has about Neighbors From Hell. The noise-acculturated are bolstered at every turn by impotent authorities, despite the fact that nuisance noise is associated with an array of serious criminal behaviors.

Redneck Bar & Junkyard NFH

Postby Warfighter on Sun Oct 16, 2005 9:12 am

Old neighbor moved out, Redneck NFH moved in. They turned their house into a biker bar, throwing loud parties past 3AM, their yard quickly became a junkyard filled with nine demolition derby wrecks, four trailers, and two junk boats. At first, I tried to reason with them that they should have respect for my kids' sleep, but that only made things worse. After trying again to reason with them, and breaking up a brawl in my driveway, I stopped sticking my neck out and called the police. The NFH went berzerk and started making threats, so we went to court, and got a "protecting the peace" order against our NFH. That resulted in the NFH trying to run over my wife and 11yr-old as they stood on the road by our mailbox. Luckily, there was a witness and the Police charged our NFH with two counts of assault. We're still waiting for our court dates, so I'll have to tell you later about the end results. Regarding the junk cars and boats, I visited the county government center, and made a complaint. The people in zoning said that all of their cars had to be either tagged, or removed. The most they could have was one untagged car, but it had to be on a tagged trailer and under a car cover. Of course, none of the cars, trailers, or boats were tagged, nor would they pass a safety inspection. So, the NFH has 30 days to get rid of them or be fined. This got the NFH really mad, but that wasn't all I did at the courthouse. I also made a complaint about the NFH's garage being too close to our property line. Since my former neighbor didn't have a permit when it was built, the new NFH can't grandfather the structure. Sore enough, an inspector came out, and the garage has to either be moved or demolished. My goal in all of this is simply to use the law. Originally, I just wanted the NFH to behave. but after the NFH trying to run over my wife and son, my goal is now to get the NFH to move by breaking their piggy bank. I figure that they are already spread too thin financially. They are going to start racking up fines and penalties for their code violations, cost to move their garage and cars, and they will lose wages for being at court dates instead of work. Since there are now assault charges, NFH will have to pay for a bond to get out of jail, and pay for a lawyer. Since it looks like the NFH is committed to being a total NFH, I'm committed to launching everything all at once to break their back financially and make their mortgage holder send them packing.

Lessons Learned:
Rednecks don't do anything the right way - no permits, expired plates, pet licenses/vaccines, always in debt with credit cards , etc
Rednecks feel like they can do anything they want and you will only make them mad if you complain so be prepared for war.
Document everything, keep a log of events, and take pictures (there are stalker laws against video/audio so be careful about using your camcorder)
Research your local noise ordinance, and building codes. Visit your planning and zoning officials.
Overwhelm the NFH with the law!!!! Break their bank!!!! Get the NFH to move!!!! Don't give your Saddam a second chance!!!!

Good on you Warfighter for sticking up for your rights and doing everything the right way according to the law. Look forward to hearing more of your story.

Yes, please let us know what the court outcome is! I live in somewhat of a Redneck central, but a good deal of these folks know how to behave and take care of their property. I got victory with my own "femullet" sporting redneck from hell neighbor when she and her brood were kicked out back in July and boy did it ever feel great!!!! Stick to those guns, warfighter! WOOOO HOOOO!!!!!

I'm from KY, so I see plenty of rednecks WarFighter! In my neighborhood,we have lived here for 21 yrs and sadly, many of the homes the older folks lived in are becoming for sale and nothing but trashy rednecks move in. Probably because the homes are cheaper (90-100K) and in a low middle class/upper lower class sort of town. We had an elderly lady move out about 5 or 6 yrs ago and some redneck guy moved in with his girlfriend (not even engaged yet) who has 2 children, both who live there 3 weeks out of the month then spend the other week with their father. This guy has turned the yard into a disaster-a month ago, a huge tree fell in his yard and he cut it down himself, made a huge mess and now just the trunk about about 4 ft of tree remains in the yard along with tree chunks. Has people over all the time-even on weeknights and late into the night. His girlfriend calls drivers racial slurs if she sees them flying down the road and almost hitting her kids in the street (who should be out of the way when cars come). The guy is a druggie, does nothing but drink. They're in debt yet can somehow get another car. Had a truck sit in the grass for a week untouched-come to find out it wasn'tn drivable...the list goes on and on...it's a shame how some people make their yard trashy. Guess that's how rednecks like to live

Thanks...

Postby Warfighter on Sun Oct 16, 2005 9:05 pm

Thanks for the encouragement guys. I was surprised to see so many others having NFH problems too!!!! I look forward to a time when my time is spent on other things than fighting with the neighbors. I'm Captain in the USAF, and my wife is a high school math teacher. We're both professionals, and have careers in which we try to contribute something to the world rather than just take. Unfortunately, we don't get to enjoy our time at home due to our NFH. It's frustrating waiting for the law to work, but in my situation, I can't afford to let myself get lured into being on the wrong side of the law. Anyway, I do know that in a war, the enemy surrenders when he can't afford the cost of sustaining the war. So, I'll keep attacking my NFH's piggie bank... No, I'm not an elitist snob. I put myself through college driving a tractor-trailer, and doing odd jobs like roofing and carpentry. I also did time in Desert Storm and Iraqi Freedom. I worked hard for everything I've got. That's probably what makes me mad when some bum comes along and tries to mess with my family, and the peace I've earned.

Warfighter, I know I'm not the only one on this board when I say this but first and foremost-thank you for your service!! With the situation right now in Iraq, I worry that the soldiers are safe over there and can come home to their families. I live near Fort Knox and Ft Campbell is not too far away and everytime I hear stories about troops coming home, it makes me so happy for what they have done for their country and that they are able to come back home safely. Thank you once again :D

Now with the NsFH LOL. We are the same way-we want to try to live a peaceful life at home but with the NFH around us and their constant noise, trash and groves of people over all the time, we can't even get the peace! Back in the 80's when we moved into our neighborhood, it contained mostly elderly folks and older adults. Now they have moved out or passed on and the home value has dropped since they're just small little 1300 sq ft homes in a working class neighborhood. We can't afford to move and so we are stuck here and are watching a new generation of homeowners come in-the ones who would rather throw parties than cut grass, sit on the porch and get drunk rather than cook a meal for their family. We try not to get into disagreements with the NFH-it'd make things worse. Instead, we just have to sit back and look at the mess that's moving in here and wishing things would be better. Nowadays, so many people want handouts without working for it. I think that's why society today is messed up as it is-people are sliding by the rules, getting what they want without the sweat and hard work. Makes me sick but I guess I can't change that..

Aah Warfighter and Sarabug, you guys have illustrated very well the problem myself and most people have with NsFH. You work so hard and diligently for your own piece of property, to raise your kids well, to save for a rainy day, to enjoy the time you have with your family when you're not working and instead you have to deal with some bloody moron neighbors who make your life a misery. I've seen it with my own parents. They worked like dogs and saved for 40 years to build a house in a nice suburb in a nice part of town and what do they get? A whole family of d-ckheads as neighbors who trespass, throw trash in my parent's backyard and swimming pool, damage their fence, hold extremely loud parties with live bands and Djs and 100s of people and when my parents dare to complain, they get threatened and slandered by these a*holes.

My husband is a Navy medic and I am an environmental scientist, so we have devoted our careers to contribute something to society. My parents worked in the service industry. Being useful members of society is just something you do - we're all responsible for making our small part of the world a little better. But when you are forced to deal with selfish, greedy, aggressive, nasty, criminal people who can't think beyond their own noses, your faith in humanity takes quite a beating.

I'm helping my parents fight the good fight like you Warfighter but my Dad is in his 70s now and doesn't want the hassle and expense of dealing with lawyers and courts etc. Plus, our NsFH have been in trouble with the law on more serious issues before so I don't think they would be afraid of a lawsuit. My Dad is trying to think of more creative ways of dealing with these people. He's got a few things up his sleeve so I'll have to keep you posted.

Thanks for letting me vent, yet again!!!

We are trying to use the same approach. Our NFH's are too cheap to pay the noise ordinance fines, so things have quieted down a bit. Our new NFH may be in for the same lesson if she keeps it up. It is sad that the one thing that makes some people behave is money.

I'd like to third the thanks to Warfighter and Kylie's hubby for their service to this country....YOU GUYS ROCK!!!!!!!!!!!

Guest, you said, "It is sad that the one thing that makes some people behave is money." I'd like to add, "Or the lack thereof." It's true. The most effective way to tame the wild beast is to hit him where it hurts....right in the pocket.

Thanks to Kylie's husband too for his service :D I agree with what every one said-just seems that some folks like our NFH want to cause ruin and misery for those of us who want to make a living and a home-maybe b/c they are jealous, like living a trashy life w/o worry or responsibilities.

I wish there was a way all the NFH can live together and the regular folk like us can live together-may make things more enjoyable :D

I just reread Warfighters post...way to go dude. Everyone knows that I'm a big advocate of talk first. Warfighter talked to these buttlicks twice. When it all breaks down, hell yes...go for the jugular. I love the ordinace that says only one untagged car, but it has to be on tagged trailer and undercover. It sounds like there is a cooperative local government involved too. It seems that in many cases the local govt is on the side of the scum. Fear of ACLU or laziness? Who knows.
It absolutely sucks to work your tail off to first buy a home, then to keep it nice, just to have some morons move in next door so that no one notices you have a nice place, instead all anyone notices is what a clogged up toilet looking place is next door.

Sometimes it just feels like the time and effort you put into a home and tending it goes down the drain with NFH move in next door (or across the street for my matter) and trash their place and live like Barbarians..not only does it make you mad, it also can look bad on your part. We've redone our bathroom and are in the process of redoing the kitchen and adding a small laundry room in the back, for our self primarily but also in hopes it could add to the house value if we plan to move in a couple years (hopefully we will!!)-our house is around 60 and modernizing it is good for potential buyers :) But when filthy idiotic NFH move in around you and keep their house looking like either a pig sty, a frat party, or an absolute eyesore it makes your own home drive away customers not because of your own house but the homes around it which look terrible

It does tend to make you wonder what all your hard work was for, doesn't it? All it takes is one place looking neglected to make the whole neighborhood look undesirable.

Yep that's true Quiet! When we moved in our home in '84, the folks of the neighborhood were either elderly folks, couples who were middle-aged and young families...of about 40 homes on our street since we have lived in our house, only 5 or 6 other families are still there. The rest either passed away (mainly the elderly ones) or moved. The young families grew up, kids got older and moved out,the like. And what's coming in now are the ones who seem to party all the time, trash the yard, act wild, bring in people all the time, let their kids roam around and get into others' property w/o discipline. We're getting quite a bit of renters also on our street-6 or 7. Wheres some are great neighbors and cause no trouble, the rest are the type many people associate renters as. I wonder why the white trash keep coming on our street and I am guessing it's b/c the home value is cheaper than other parts of town (90-100K for a house on my street) or the area is prone to folks who like to live at the simplest and not take care of things or care about much-like education,career,self-improvement. Our neighborhood has changed dramatically and we're trying to move out-it just takes money to do so and finding a place LOL.

But all these NFH coming in makes our own house which we care about and take care of look bad b/c of the sloppy homes around it.

New News to Report

Postby Warfighter on Wed Oct 19, 2005 7:43 pm

Folks, I'm glad to report that the neighbors got served this past weekend!!! The past couple of nights they have been removing their demolition derby cars from the property, and they are visibly demoralized. Although they have had plenty of opportunity to play games, they are now just trying to keep out of debt and out of jail!!! My wife was out at the mailbox tonight, just as she was when the NFH tried to run her over before. The neighbor slowed down, and wouldn't even look at my wife as she pulled in her driveway. We found out from the police that the NFH has been served for the first charge, "Disturbing the Peace." We're still waiting on the assault charge, and for the notice for NFH to tear down their garage. I hope that as the bombs keep falling, that the NFH will soon fold under the massing pressure and moooove... Thanks again for all the support. I'll keep posting more as things unfold. If I don't post for a while, it's because I'm helping out with getting things ready for when Hurricane Wilma hits Florida. Despite the NFH, I'm glad to be in DC.

Hope you are safe Warfighter and anybody else in her path. It seems all the hurricanes this year have been girls (well girl names LOL)-comes to show women are strong too :D

Redneck Update...

Postby Warfighter on Sat Oct 22, 2005 10:01 am

Good news this week. I'm getting promoted to Major! I also got the weekend off because Wilma won't hit now until at least Tuesday.

Also I got a call from the county zoning inspector yesterday. The NFH definitely got served last weekend for their cars, and their garage. Regarding the cars, I told the inspector that I think the NFH is just relocating the junk cars to a friend's house and will bring them back when the case is closed. The inspector told me that he would leave the case open and if the NFH brings the cars back, there will be a big fine. Regarding the garage, the inspector told me that my NFH has seven more days to move/demolish their garage before the legal department takes action i.e. they will be ordered to comply or face steep fines! The inspector said that the NFH has since tried to appeal my complaint by trying to grandfather the garage structure (it was a carport when NFH bought the house) and apply for a permit for his improvements, but was denied because the original owner never had a permit. The next step in the appeal process would involve the NFH asking me for my permission to keep the garage! I doubt that the NFH will stoop to eating crow (except for the redneck road kill variety which I'm sure they eat). I would have liked to see the NFH's expression when told their fate was in my hands! Anyway, that's it for now. We're still waiting on a court date. The late night partying has stopped for now, but I'm making sure that it doesn't start again. I want these turds gone (far away from my kids).

I do want to say thanks again for all the support. I hope my continuing story can help someone else deal with their NFH problem.

Does anyone know if I can post pictures on this site? I'd like to post the NFH's cars and garage before and after! I think if I could show you pictures, it would speak volumes over any words I can ever write. Also, our new fence looks great (It feels like putting animals in a cage). I'm tempted to paint the neighbor's side bright pink, and cover it in sings like "Say No to Drugs," and "Stay in School." Too bad I can't, or I'd be harassing.

PS. does anyone know how to get a copy of someone's criminal record in Maryland? I've seen ads on the internet for services that will provide you copies of people's criminal records, but not for Maryland. I'm interested in finding out just what the police meant when they said they already knew our NFH.

Also, can anyone tell me how to report someone for driving on expired plates/tags? That's right, even the cars the NFH drives on a daily basis aren't legally tagged! They bent their plates over in the corner where the year is displayed. Like I said before, these guys are all about playing games, and nothing about responsibility. I'm thinking that the next time the police have to be called, I'll tell them to look at NFH's plates, but I'm careful lot to excessively call the police so they don't ever think I'm crying wolf. I would be nowhere without their support.

Congratulations on your promotion Warfighter! You can post pictures in the forum-I've done it before in another thread-we had NFH across the street whose tree fell on a car about 6 weeks ago and it's a long story but the tree trunk is still in the yard today, just lying there. They're pretty lazy folks who doesn't care about tending for the house-can't imagine when it was cleaned last. But they have friends over constantly so I guess they "forget about cleaning and tending the house" and instead play with their friends.

Anyways I've taken pics of these folks to show how weird and trashy the are. I'm not an expert in the HTML codes so all I do is take pictures with my digital camera and save them to my computer. I have to save them in a small size b/c it takes forever to upload! Do you have an account online where you can store pictures like Snapfish or Photobucket? I use Snapfish myself and upload the pics there. When I am done uploading, I go to the album my pics were saved, pick the one I want, and right click on the picture I want to post. Choose properties and in a little box it'll describe the picture's size, etc. You'll see address, and what you will do is highlight that. When you get here and want to post, just paste the link.

That's the only way I know how to post pictures. Someone else might have an easier way. Hope that helps you in some way :)

Warfighter....congrats on the promotion. :D

On the criminal record question, you may check and see if the city or county where you live has a website. Dig around there. Especially in the courts section. You will be surprised on the things you can find out there, for free.

With the reporting of expired tags, try the city or county website again to see if they have any means of reporting violators.

Again, congratulations, and I wish you continued success both in your professional efforts, as well as with your "war" with the NFH. :D
