question about equipment

Technology meets social need, as cameras and surveillance/security systems become more affordable, while neighbors more often require a watchful eye, and authorities can't seem to do much without our proof.

question about equipment

My spouse was asking this question - how does surveillance equipment function outdoors in winter? We get cold winters here. We are considering equipment. Anyone? thanks.

We have hardy winters & my set up does just fine. When shopping just check the specs & make sure you get something that will work within your temp. range.

Thanks. We get down to -20F at times. But mostly never below -10 below. But I highly doubt NFH would be out then anyway!

34garden,

We get as cold, if not colder than you, and ours work just fine.

You're right about a NFH being out and about when it's that cold; I've discovered over the last five years that mine comes out as little as possible when the snow/cold hits. That's the only saving grace about winter up here.

As an aside, only 37 days left until I can say "Free at last, free at last, thank God almighty, I'm free at last!"

Same with Klan NFH here, can't be leavin' tracks in the snow (even on their own property), dontcha know!

So what about all your semi-wild cats, ren? Are they coming with or will they have to get by on their own when you leave?

xyz,

I'm contacting two shelters to see if they can take some or all of the cats. They are all friendly, so adopting them out wouldn't be a problem for the shelters. If it comes down to it, I will contact the animal control officer, but I'm hoping it doesn't come down to that. Meanwhile I'm still actively looking for homes for them myself. I've also been given the name of a local who, under these circumstances, may be willing to take them (keeping my fingers crossed).
